What are the Millennium Development Goals?

World leaders are meeting at the United Nations in New York for the second day of talks on the Millennium Development

Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said the money would help the UN to "make progress on those goals we are furthest from achieving".
